Mickleover
Mickleover has a wealth of history, dating back to the Romans who were thought to have settled in the Derbyshire Village. With Derby becoming increasingly more populated in the 18th Century, the wealthiest locals moved to the little village of Mickleover 4.5 miles away to build their mansions. The grand architecture consists of The Old Hall, which once housed Oliver Cromwell when he stormed Tutbury Castle, as well as an array of large 19th Century cottages bringing bounds of character to the village.
The local amenities are superb, in walking distance of both Tesco and Sainsbury’s, as well as a local dentist, surgery, restaurants and public houses. There are a variety of churches in Mickleover compared to other nearby villages, with 5 in total. If you are a keen golfer there is also a golf course nearby. There are four primary schools in the village, as well as access to private education at Derby High School and Derby Grammar School.
Transport links are close by including convenient access to the A38 and A50 for commuter roads leading to the M1 and M6 motorways.
