Elford Scarecrow Fesitval... Outstanding in its field!
- 22nd August 2017
The beautiful Staffordshire village of Elford has something to ‘crow’ about- the 8th annual Scarecrow Festival!
Over the Bank Holiday weekend this beautiful Staffordshire village will be filled with close to 100 Scarecrowns adorning a route through the lanes, all created by the talented village residents. Last year boasted creations from Boris Johnson to Minions... and everything in between! Thousands of visitors cast their vote to crown last year’s champion ‘The Red Barrows’ - but which scarecrow will be crowned the people’s favourite this year?
• Vote for your favourite scarecrow to be crowned winner of 2017!
• New children’s area located in Howard Primary school including real life fire engine, bouncy castle and play area
• Pimms & beer tent and a BBQ
• Cream teas and light refreshments served in the village hall
• Hedgehog trail for the children
• Fun on the stalls - family favourites like hook a duck, splat the rat, guess the weight of the sheep and the teddy tombola amongst many others
• Stroll around the beautiful St Peters Church and the Elford Walled Gardens to see how many scarecrows you can find
And this year we are delighted to announce that there will be a flypast by the RAF of a Hurricane & Spitfire aircraft
Everyone is welcome for one the best value family days out in the Midlands, taking place on Saturday and Sunday 26th and 27th August from 11am- 4pm.
The festival is entirely in aid of local good causes with last year’s festival raising in excess of £15,000. The proceeds will be shared between St Peters Church, Elford village hall and the Pathway Project supporting victims of domestic abuse.
